Alkyone is a Greek singer-songwriter hailing from the mountains of northern Greece. Born and raised in a small town surrounded by rivers and forests, she began her musical journey at the age of six, training as a classical pianist, before embracing songwriting as her true path.Influenced by her father’s deep love for folk music, Alkyone began experimenting with traditional songs and textures, weaving a distinct folklore thread into her musical identity. Her sound blends indie songwriting, cinematic atmospheres, and folk elements from the Mediterranean and the Balkans. Singing in both English and Greek, her lyrics explore memory, growing up, and our evolving relationship with the world, while her concerts carry an intimate, personal, and emotionally charged atmosphere.She has performed across Europe (Konzerthaus, Tonhalle, Carré, SNF, Onassis Foundation and others). In 2023, she collaborated with Vincent Moon and was featured on La Blogothèque. Her critically acclaimed debut album Exit Sign was released in 2023, while her second studio album, Small Philosophies, is expected in late spring 2026.Her stage name, Alkyone, is a tribute to a recurring dream in which she was a bird.
