Zamaera is a Malaysian rapper, singer-songwriter, and storyteller known for her fearless, genre-defying sound and commanding live performances. Blending sharp lyricism with experimental production, she has carved a distinct space for herself in Southeast Asia and beyond. Breaking through Malaysia’s hip-hop scene in the mid-2010s, Zamaera gained international recognition through releases such as ZvsZ and Get Munni, leading to performances across the region and abroad. In 2021, she founded Mean Malaya Entertainment, a creative platform championing artistic independence and Malaysian talent. Her commitment to uplifting women in music led to the creation of Queendomfest, Southeast Asia’s first all-female music festival. In 2025, Zamaera became the fourth Malaysian artist to perform at SXSW in Austin, Texas. Building on that momentum, she now presents the first-ever dedicated national showcase, Made In Malaysia, at SXSW 2026, featuring an all-Malaysian lineup. Her latest single, Ikan Kekek, released in February 2026, reimagines a traditional Malay folklore rhyme through trap and techno textures, exploring cultural memory, artistic freedom, and non-linear expression.
