Marni carries a down-to-earth and authentic energy. The indie rock band formed in Los Angeles, California, in 2022, and consists of Nicolas Lara (vocals, guitar), and Michaela Gradstein (vocals, guitar). The project began as Lara’s solo work in Palm Springs, where he released the debut album Whiskey Girl, before evolving into a full band the following year. Marni intertwines heavy distorted guitars with beautifully soft moments, drawing on influences such as Title Fight, Greet Death, and Hovvdy. Their newest EP fml era (2025), produced by Corey Coffman of Gleemer, is a portrait of being down on your luck, with unpolished guitars, and emotionally direct storytelling.
